Mont Pucero (en castellano Monte Pocero) ye un mont d'a sierra d'Alcubierre, situau en a provincia de Uesca, en Aragón.
Historia
[editar | modificar o codigo]George Orwell en o suyo libro de 1938 Homage to Catalonia (en aragonés Homenache a Catalunya) recenta a vida en a linia d'o frent en a Guerra Civil Espanyola en iste mont.
Asinas describiba a choventut de muitos d'os soldaus antifaixistas, que perteneixeban en gran parti a milicias sindicals:
At Monte Pocero I do not think there was anyone younger than fiften, but the average must have been well under twenty.[1]
En as suyas parolas se puet entender a tensión que se viviba en as trincheras, con pocos combates reals y muitos tiempos d'espera:
When we left Monte Pocero I had counted my cartridges and found that in nearly three weeks I had fired just three shots at the enemy.[2]
Describe as dificils condicions de vida en o mont:
I am in the dug-out at Monte Pocero again, on the ledge of limestone that serves as a bed [...][3]
Y fa tamién una critica a la división en diferents partius politicos d'os soldaus que luitaban en o bando republicano:
At Monte Pocero, when they pointed to the position on our left and said: ‘Those are the Socialists’ (meaning the P.S.U.C.), I was puzzled and said: ‘Aren’t we all Socialists?’ I thought it idiotic that people fighting for their lives should have separate parties; my attitude always was, ‘Why can’t we drop all this political nonsense and get on with the war?’[4]
